Update 26/02/2020 St Chad's Church Yard Flooding
We are pleased to announce that the flooded areas of our churchyard have improved considerably. The standing water is now gone, the land is still very wet and we will continue to monitor it and the affected graves. Having spoken to the council representative we can now say, going forward: given the extreme weather that caused this in the first place we cannot make the land full proof from this happening again. However, to minimise the risk, the brook is being cleared within our churchyard by ourselves, and further down by the council to allow for a greater capacity. Plans are also in place to possibly raise the edges of our land to prevent water flowing in from the alotments as it did on this occurence.
We will continue to update as neccessary; for faster updates see our face book page: www.facebook.com/StChadsChurchLichfield
Welcome to St Chad's church, lichfield
St Chad’s is a welcoming church community that seeks to love and accept everyone. We try to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, and reach out to the wider community with the love of God. The heart of our life together is prayer and worship. We would love to be able to welcome you and get to know you. The church is open every day from 8.30am-5pm if you would like to visit or pray, or even simply enjoy the silence.
We have an ancient past, a lively present, and a hope-filled future. The history of the church stretches all the way back to the 7th Century, when St Chad set up a community on this site, in order to preach about Jesus to the people in this area, and to baptise them.
