Lent and Easter Events
Lent Begins with the solemn celebration of Ash Wednesday on 6th March.
Services on Ash Wednesday include:
8.30am - Morning prayer
10am - Holy Communion with Imposition of Ashes
5pm - Evening Prayer
7.30pm - Eucharist with Imposition of Ashes followed by;
Silent Prayer vigil until 9.30pm
There will also be an informal gathering on Tuesdays (12th & 19th March and 2nd & 9th April) where prayer and reflection will take place.
Each Friday in Lent starting on the 8th March there will be an act of reflective worship and prayer followed by a simple shared lunch. Starting at 12pm finishing around 1.30pm.
Saturday 23rd March Commencing at 10am St Chads will be having a Lenten Spring Clean. All are welcome to help. Shared prayer and spiritual healing iwll also take place.
Sunday 31st March 10.30am will be our Mothering Sunday worship service. All are welcome and it is a great service for the whole family!
13th April 10.30am-2.30pm - In preparation for Holy Week there will be a Quiet Day.
Holy Week: Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday 14th April when worship at St Chads will occur at 8.30am and 9.30am
Our theme for Holy Week will be Christ: The Wounded Healer.
Each day there will be an address focusing on how we can journey with Jesus to the cross, the place of lament and loss, and yet find there a source of life and well-being. From Monday to Thursday the services will begin at 7.30pm and each will be a Eucharist. On Good Friday we have a service of Communion from the Reserved Sacrament at 8.30am and a Devotional Service at 2pm.
