funerals
St Chad's we know that funerals are a very important time in people's lives. Making sure they are right is as important for us as it is for you. At St Chad's, we will do our utmost to support you in what can be a difficult period, especially in being a guiding hand to help you to make the best decisions for the service. We are flexible and generous in what you want for the funeral, and our services are always marked with the 'personal touch'. It is important for us that your loved ones funeral reflects who your loved one was. Our aim is to be sensitive, professional, and pastoral. You don't have to have been a church-goer to have a church funeral service with the Church of England: all are welcome.
We have excellent relationships with the local undertakers and crematoriums in and around Lichfield.
If you would like to contact us about booking a funeral, or would like to discuss with someone regarding funeral options, feel free to phone the office on 01543416595 Otherwise, feel free to email us at the link below:

Organising a funeral
Funerals can be very difficult and stressful to organise, and sometimes it can feel like an overwhelming task. Other times, you may not know what you would like for your own or a loved one's funeral. If you are having any trouble like that, or would like some helpful tips, click on the link below, which can guide you step by step for organising a funeral:
churchyard burials
Unfortunately, St Chad's had a closed churchyard. This means that we are sadly legally unable to open any new graves. However, if you have a relative who is already buried in St Chad's churchyard, depending on the circumstances we may be able to inter the remains of your loved one (or yourself, if you are planning ahead) within that plot. If you are unsure whether this would be possible for you, or would like some more clarity, please contact us using the details above.
after the funeral
The period after the funeral can be very difficult. We are often not used to speaking about grief in our society, which means we may wonder what is happening to us. If you would like to speak to a minister or a member of our pastoral team, please feel free to contact us, and we can get someone to meet with you.

commemorating your loved one
Situated in the rear of the Church beside the entrance to the Clergy Vestry, we have a memorial book standing in a wooden display box. This is a special and unique way of recording within St Chad's Church the memory of a loved one who has died. It is a welcome option for those who are not represented in other ways (for example, a gravestone). For a small donation the name and date of birth will be entered in calligraphy on the page dated with the date of death. The pages of the book are turned daily. If you would like to have your loved one's name written in our book, please contact the office.
